2014: YEAR IN REVIEW
Under the Bridge enjoyed a stellar 2014, with an array of exciting events taking place across the year.
We once again hosted intimate sets from some of the music world’s biggest stars including the likes of UK pop royalty Gary Barlow, who came to UTB with Heart FM to kick off his sold-out UK tour; Peter Andre, who launched his tenth album Big Night backed by a 12-piece big band; chart-topping EDM singer Example, who performed an incredible free gig in association with MTV; and stadium rockers Kasabian, whose acoustic set to launch the NME Awards demonstrated why they have become one of the world’s biggest bands.
We were also delighted to welcome back two great UK artists – the multi-million-selling singer and star of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Pixie Lott, who returned to the venue to perform tracks from her greatest hits album Platinum Pixie; and the inimitable Professor Green, who treated fans to an exclusive hit-laden set that rocked us to the rafters!
We continued to present an eclectic mix of incredible bands and artists throughout the year and some of the highlights included two sellout shows from rising star rapper Fuse ODG, a generous dose of post punk from A Certain Ratio, The Fall and Jah Wobble’s Invaders of the Heart, world class improvisation from the likes of Grandmothers of Invention and Medeski, Martin & Wood, and acclaimed US hip-hop acts The Pharcyde and Chali 2Na.
It was also another award-winning year as Under the Bridge was not only shortlisted as a finalist for ‘Best In-House Team’ at the AV Awards, we were again crowned winners at the prestigious Loo Of The Year Awards! We’re flushed with pride…
Thanks for all the support and we look forward to seeing you again in 2015!
