2015 – Year In Review
2015 turned out to be another stellar year for Under the Bridge as the award-winning, 550 capacity venue cemented its position as one of the capital’s leading live music and event spaces thanks to a string of exclusive performances, showcases and collaborations.
UTB once again played host to some of the most acclaimed acts from around the world including a phenomenal performance last week from international chart-toppers Take That, who put on an intimate show in association with Heart Radio. The trio were on fine form and treated the packed house to renditions of some of their biggest hits including Rule The World, Patience, Back For Good and The Flood.
“We’ve performed in some great venues this year but to play such an intimate gig for Heart listeners was a perfect way to end the year.”
Other high profile names to have made their way to West London this year are The Maccabees, who performed an exclusive show to launch the 2016 NME Awards, Mercury-nominated indie-rockers Everything Everything, who launched this year’s Q Awards, and true pop royalty in the form of one fifth of The Jackson 5, the legendary singer and guitarist Tito Jackson! The venue also presented its first London Jazz Festival show with two incendiary, sold-out nights from funk supremo Maceo Parker.
UTB was also proud to present concerts from a series of international stars from all corners of the globe in the form of Russia’s Therr Maitz, French gypsy jazz singer Zaz, Latvian indie-pop outfit Brainstorm and Thai sensations Singto Numchok and Slot Machine.
The year saw collaborations with one of the world’s most popular music apps Shazam, with the likes of Nate Reuss (Fun) and Conrad Sewell (Kygo) gracing the UTB stage to record exclusive sessions, and UTB was also the venue of choice for the celeb-studded MOBO pre-awards party in October.
Under the Bridge continued to be recognised as one of the UK’s best venues with nominations in the ‘London’s Favourite Music Venue’ category at the London Music Awards and ‘Best Corporate Party Venue’ at the London Venue Awards.
2016 marks the venue’s 5th anniversary and looks set to be another busy year with an eclectic mix of concerts already in the diary as well as an array of top-secret performances from huge star names to be announced. Keep an eye on www.underthebridge.co.uk for updates!
