On March 29th 2010 Under the Bridge was selected by Eighties music icon Adam Ant to launch his first UK tour in 15 years.
The ‘Prince Charming’ singer played at our venue in front of 150 invitees from national and local media. He performed a 30-minute set, including hits such as ‘Stand and Deliver’, ‘Goody Two Shoes’ and ‘Dog Eat Dog’.
His new sound is a little harder and punkier than during his 1980s chart heyday. Fans of his ‘Wild Frontier’ era, though, will be delighted his new backing group – The Good, The Mad & The Lovely Posse – still boasts those distinctive two drummers.
Singer Adam, looking well-preserved for his 56 years, then took part in a question and answer session centring on how he felt about standing and delivering again after all these years.
‘I’m really looking forward to it,’ he said. ‘I missed it – that’s what I do – and the money.’
Playing at Under the Bridge was also a return to an old haunt for Adam – he was a childhood Chelsea fan and used to go to Stamford Bridge with his father.
Adam And The Ants are playing 15 dates around the country starting in May 2010. Click here for tour details.
