Under the Bridge will be welcoming two bass guitar legends over the next few months in the form of the inimitable Glen Matlock and Jah Wobble.
Matlock, who made his name performing and writing with the Sex Pistols, comes to UTB with Earl Slick, David Bowie’s lead guitarist since the mid-70s, and Slim Jim Phantom, revered stand-up drummer with The Stray Cats, for a unique one-off show on August 15th. Click here for more info/tickets.
Jah Wobble, who was described by The Guardian as “a true maverick”, brings his Invaders of the Heart group to UTB on October 10th for their first show in 20 years. He was not only nicknamed ‘Jah Wobble’ by Sid Vicious after a drunken night out but Vicious also loaned him his first bass guitar and, following the Pistols’ split in 1978, John Lydon asked Jah Wobble to join his new band Public Image Limited (aka PiL). The credentials of these two artists, which include performing with the godfather of British punk John Lydon, speak for themselves and these rare London dates are not to be missed.
