AGMP presents THE DRIZA BONE SOUL FAMILY + DELEGATION Outstanding Double Bill of UK Soul Sensations & 1970’s Soul Legends. Driza Bone were formed in the early 90’s by Billy Freeman and instantly had their first hit record with “Real Love“, a timeless soulful dance groove, which endures on dance floors to this day. The band followed that up with a remix of “I Love Your Smile” by U.S artist Shanice, reaching No 2 in the U.K chart. Further hits followed including “Pressure” and “Brightest Star“.
Along with producing their own prestigious album, ‘Conspiracy‘, they also remixed the likes of Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige, Mica Paris and Barry White, amongst many others. More recents albums “All the Way” and “The Recipe of Life” have featured more classic songs such as “I Fell Apart“, “Girlfrendz” and “Don’t Break My Heart” all of which have been playlisted on Radio 2, Jazz FM, Mi-Soul and more.
Delegation formed in 1975 and released their debut single “The Promise of Love” the following year. The accompanying album also featured their biggest UK hit “Where Is The Love – We Used To Know“. The band went on to have a massive hit in the USA with “Oh Honey” in 1978.
Arguably their most popular album “Eau De Vie” came out on Ariola in 1979 which featured the singles “Heartache No. 9″, “You and I“ and “Put a Little Love On Me“. The band continued to release singles throughout the 1980’s but have not had an album out since 1993’s “Encore”. AGMP recommends the special disco mix of “Singing” from 1981.
