Lindisfarne was born in 1970 when Newcastle singer-songwriter Alan Hull joined Rod Clements, Si Cowe, Ray Jackson and Ray Laidlaw. After signing to Charisma Records the band released their first album, ‘Nicely Out Of Tune’, in the same year.

The album contained several future Lindisfarne classics – “Lady Eleanor”, “Road To Kingdom Come”, “Winter Song”, “Clear White Light” and “We Can Swing Together”. The follow up album, 1971’s “Fog on the Tyne”, featured the Rod Clements penned “Meet me on the Corner” which reached number 5 in the UK charts. The band toured around this time alongside The Byrds & Roxy Music amongst others.

1972’s “Dingly Dell” album was the last album with the original line up as Alan Hull left in early 1973 after a co-headlining tour with Slade & Status Quo. Returning to the studio in 1978 Lindisfarne re-established themselves with another Top 10 single – Alan Hull’s anthemic “Run For Home”.

An unexpected and unwelcome change, however, came in 1995 with the sudden death of Alan Hull. After a break the band continued with 1998’s “Here Comes The Neighbourhood” and 2002’s “Promenade”. This incarnation of Lindisfarne finally dispersed in 2003 following an emotional farewell concert at Newcastle’s Opera House and for a time it seemed the story was over.

Lindisfarne are now back with originial singer-songwriter Rod Clements at the helm. Book early to this influential and legendary UK band in the intimate environment of the award winning Under the Bridge.
