About Played In Chelsea Made in Chelsea, the BAFTA-winning E4 show that “has the best soundtrack on TV” (The Guardian) has always used the freshest music around and the series has an extensive following as the place to find the best new tunes on television. To celebrate six series of great music in Chelsea we are launching Played In Chelsea – a season of four gigs on 5th, 10th, 20th and 26th November 2013. Staged at Under the Bridge in Chelsea, these gigs will be streamed live on the E4 website http://www.e4.com/chelsea as well as being made available as a highlights show later in the week on the Channel 4 catch up platform 4oD. Tickets for these exclusive and intimate events are sure to sell out fast and are on sale now here. Each night of Played in Chelsea will be hosted by two of the Made in Chelsea cast and will feature three different bands, all of whom have featured on Made in Chelsea. Many of the bands, such as our first headliner, Young Kato, had their big break as a result of being played on the show. Asked about Young Kato’s previous live gig that featured in Made in Chelsea, singer Tommy Wright said, “As well as having a huge following it is a show which prides itself on featuring some of the best new music so from that point of view it was great to be asked.” Made in Chelsea regularly tops the charts as the most mentioned television show on Twitter as Young Kato discovered when they were on the show: “We started trending worldwide,” Wright said. “At one stage we were creeping up on Justin Bieber.” In the spirit of the Made in Chelsea ‘new music’ ethos, as well as celebrating established bands, the gigs will also showcase up-and-coming support acts who will have featured on recent episodes and who are poised for the big time. The gig line-ups are curated by Made in Chelsea Music Supervisor, Andrea Madden, who said “It’s always a thrill to choose the music for every episode of Made in Chelsea so to be able to put those bands live on stage together for Played in Chelsea is the next logical step – and really exciting. The cast of the show love the music so I’m sure they’ll be down the front too.” The gigs will coincide with the release of the Made in Chelsea Volume 1 soundtrack which is released on the 4th of November 2013. Proceeds from ticket sales will also go to selected local Chelsea charities. Remember – watch the gigs live on the E4 website, and catch up on 4oD.
