The Blackbyrds were formed in 1973 in Washington D.C. as the protegees of Donald Byrd. Their self-titled debut album was released the following year on Fantasy Records and was produced by the Mizell Brothers. The album featured the rare groove classic “Do it Fluid” written by Donald Byrd.

1975’s follow up LP “Flying Start” featured their first Top 10 single “Walking in Rhythm” which was their first million selling single. “City Life” released the same year featured “Rock Creek Park” and the Top 20 “Happy Music”. After releasing further albums “Action”, “Night Grooves”, “Unfinished Business” and “Better Days” the group disbanded in 1980.

Adrian Gibson of AGMP reformed the Blackbyrds briefly in 1994 to perform a week of sell out shows at London’s Jazz Cafe. The band also released an album of new material in 2012 “Gotta Fly”.

I have booked 4 tickets for 25th July – I would expect a full refund including booking fee as I will be out of the country on the rebooked date. My invoice was BH36QZ for £114.02. Please confirm
