THE BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA

Blind Boys of Alabama Celebrate 70th Anniversary with Exclusive London Performance

Since making their first performance together on June 10th 1944, The Blind Boys of Alabama have gone on to enjoy an illustrious, award-winning 70-year career that has seen them become one of the most widely celebrated gospel groups of all time. They celebrate this milestone anniversary with a hugely anticipated 70th anniversary show on Saturday May 24th at West London’s Under the Bridge.

The Blind Boys of Alabama started releasing records in the early 1960s, were signed to House of Blues records in the 1990s before switching to Real World Records where they released acclaimed albums such as “Higher Ground” and “Spirit of the Century”.

In September 2013, the Blind Boys of Alabama released their new album “I’ll Find A Way” on Sony Masterworks records. The album featured guest artists including Patty Griffin, Sam Amidon, Casey Dienel of White Hinterland, Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond, and Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs, as well as Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, who produced the album and sang on a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Every Grain of Sand”.

Performing hits from throughout their career, please welcome back the Blind Boys of Alabama to Under the Bridge for a divine Saturday night of gospel! [click to see pictures from the Blind Boys of Alabama’s UTB gig in 2011]
